November 03, 2012 @ 12:00 AM

HUNTINGTON -- The 49th annual Marshall University International Festival will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, and will include a new format meant to highlight the authentic international restaurants serving the Huntington area.

Local restaurants will provide the food, while many of the estimated 400 international Marshall students who represent 60 countries will be at booths to speak with the public as they pass through.

Cabell County Schools also will take part, including art students from Barboursville Middle and Pro-Start students from Cabell Midland High School.

The annual exposition features international foods, world music and dance and displays representing many different countries and cultures. The festival is open to the public and is free of charge.

Tickets to sample the international foods will cost 50 cents each.

Marshall University's 48th annual International Festival is held at the Memorial Student Center on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2011, in Huntington.
