$20,000 in heroin seized from home on Highlawn Avenue
HUNTINGTON -- A search warrant executed by authorities early Thursday revealed significant amounts of heroin and cash at a home in the 2700 block of Highlawn Avenue.
Authorities charged Anthony Cooper, 39, with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, according to a press release.
The arrest came as authorities executed search and arrest warrants in east Huntington.
The search revealed $20,000 in heroin and $1,000 cash, according to the release issued by the Cabell County Sheriff's Office. Its S.W.A.T. executed the warrants in cooperation with the FBI's Huntington Violent Crime Drug Task Force. The heroin was found packaged for distribution.
Sheriff Tom McComas said Cooper was the only person home at the time, but others are known to stay at the home. More charges could be filed as the investigation continues. Cooper was taken to the Western Regional Jail on a $10,000 bond.
