Cancer Society to host open house Thursday
HUNTINGTON -- The Huntington office of the American Cancer Society is hosting an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and is inviting Tri-Staters to explore its free offerings for those suffering from cancer and their families and loved ones.
The office is at 611 7th Ave., where the public is invited to check out the society's wig room for patients and discuss services with its staff members.
Light refreshments and a door prize will be offered.
It also will be an opportunity to get information about forming a team for the Relay for Life fundraising event, scheduled for June 13 in Barboursville Park.
Last year's event raised $90,000 for the society, and organizers are shooting for $100,000 this year.
