Rain plan in effect for Shawnee graduation
PORTSMOUTH -- Water oversaturation from this week's rain storms is cause for Shawnee State University to move its graduation ceremonies indoors this weekend.
The ceremonies will be on Saturday, May 3, in the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts. The first ceremony, for graduates whose last names begin with letters A through K, will be at 10 a.m., and the ceremony for graduates whose last names begin with the letters L through Z will begin at 2 p.m.
Graduates have received three tickets apiece for the indoor ceremonies, and additional guests may view the ceremony on monitors in the Flohr Lecture Hall in the Clark Memorial Library and in the Sodexo Ballroom in the University Center.
Both ceremonies will be streamed live through a link on the university's website at www.shawnee.edu.
