MCTC to particpate in roll call on Veterans Day
HUNTINGTON -- Mountwest Community and Technical College will participate in Remembrance Day National Roll Call beginning at 4 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12, with a synchronized reading of all the names of the Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom casualties.
The college is one of 69 schools from 33 states that have pledged to participate in the event.
The reading will take place in the dining area on campus and will include readers from the college, the Huntington Police Department, the various branches of the U.S. military and retired service members, among others.
All participating schools will pause at 2 p.m. to observe a simultaneous "minute of silence."
The event is open to the public.
