HUNTINGTON -- Employees at Fifth Third Bank make investments day in and day out, but they recently made one important investment in the Tri-State Community.
The bank made a $5,000 contribution to United Way of the River Cities' annual fundraising effort, according to a press release from the organization.
This contribution helps the organization move closer to its $1.25 million goal. The money will be used to support funded partner programs in the areas of learning and earning, families and children, health and wellness and basic needs and unforeseen hardships. The funds will also ensure safety-net services are available for River Cities residents in need.
"We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful partnership with Fifth Third Bank," said Laura Gilliam, United Way executive director. "Their generous gift supports United Way of the River Cities' work to improve community conditions and create lasting change. Fifth Third Bank is a valuable and longstanding community partner."
