HUNTINGTON -- Vertigo Winter Guard will have a community fundraising event at Bob Evans Restaurant, 121 Kinetic Drive, Huntington, (off the Hal Greer Exit of Interstate 64) from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12.
Eat at Bob Evans that day and then present a community fundraiser flyer at checkout. Vertigo will get 15 percent of all sales for each flyer presented. The flyer, which may be obtained at www.orgsites.com/wv/vertigowinterguard, must be presented.
Vertigo Winter Guard is an independent indoor color guard in Huntington. Their current members attend Marshall University, Mountwest Community College and Spring Valley High School. Membership is open to anyone 14 to 22 years of age with dance, flag, saber or rifle experience. Vertigo is under the direction of Marshall University Color Guard choreographer/instructor Maurica Richardson and former Marshall University Color Guard choreographer/instructor Marcus Daniels.
Berenstain Bears to visit Boyd County Library
CANNONSBURG -- Berenstain Bear enthusiasts will have the opportunity to meet the family at Boyd County Public Library.
Brother and Sister Bear will have a special story time with their young friends at the Kyova Branch, starting at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at the library. The first 50 children will receive a copy of a Berenstain Bears' Thanksgiving book.
The Kyova Branch is in the Kyova Mall, across from Elder-Beerman.
Annual Christmas Tea scheduled for Nov. 17
IRONTON -- The annual Christmas Tea at the Lawrence County Museum is set for 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at the museum, located at 506 S. 6th St.
Reservations are required, and seating is limited for the event. The cost is $15 per person.
