School-zone traffic stop yields crack cocaine bust

Reports from the Putnam County Sheriff's Department provided the following information:

Deputies arrested two men on drug charges after they made a traffic stop. The stop was initiated May 15 after a car was traveling 32 miles per hour in the West Teays Elementary school zone.

Police confiscated 15 grams of crack cocaine along with Aderal, a controlled substance.

Anthony Dye, 28, of St. Albans, was arrested on felony charges of possession with intent to deliver. Another man was arrested on misdemeanor charges of simple possession and driving with a suspended license.

Dye was taken to Western Regional Jail in Barboursville, where he remains on $30,000 bond.

THEFT: A weapons theft from a home in the 100 block of Candlewick Place in Hurricane occurred about 7 a.m. Friday, May 16.

Three weapons valued at over $3,400 were reported stolen by way of an unlocked door to the residence. One rifle was taken from inside the home. Two additional pistols were taken from the homeowner's vehicle.

There are currently no suspects.

Reports from the Huntington Police Department provided the following information:

A catalytic convertor was reported stolen from a vehicle belonging to St. Mary's Medical Center, 2900 1st Ave.

The incident occurred about 6:10 p.m. Friday.

LARCENY: Copper piping stripped from an air conditioning unit was reported stolen from the St. Joseph Church Parish House, 1304 6th Ave.

The incident occurred about 9:20 a.m. Monday.

LARCENY: A 49-year-old Huntington woman reported that her purse was stolen from her desk about 9:50 a.m. Monday in the 900 block of 4th Avenue.

LARCENY: A 71-year-old Huntington woman reported that someone stole her money and two diamond rings from her residence about 3:43 p.m. Monday in the 200 block of 1st Street in Altizer.

BURGLARY: A 20-year-old Huntington man reported that someone broke into his residence and stole several items about 6 p.m. Friday in the 1900 block of 6th Avenue.

STOLEN VEHICLE: A 45-year-old Huntington man reported that someone stole his white 1995 Chevrolet Blazer about 3 a.m. Wednesday in the 1000 block of Jackson Avenue.

Reports from the Western Regional Jail listed the following felony bookings:

Clifford Junior Wilburn, 64, was incarcerated at 8:10 p.m. Monday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with felony threats of terrorist acts and misdemeanor battery. His bond was $25,000.

Brad Eugene Adler, 25, was incarcerated at 4:26 p.m. Monday. Authorities in Mason County charged him with felony grand larceny and daytime burglary, along with misdemeanor petit larceny and receiving/transferring stolen property. His bond was $25,000.

Shannon Lee O'Dell, 36, was incarcerated at 12:20 p.m. Monday. Authorities in Cabell County charged her with a fugitive from justice. She was being held without bond.
