Thursday, Feb. 26: Friends of the Clay Center and Tri-State Racetrack & Gaming Center host a Mardi Gras mixer from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26. All proceeds support the Clay Center's education endeavors. The event will feature racing vouchers, slot coupons, blackjack instruction, hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar and more. Saturday, March 7: Cabell County Public Library Gala celebrates Irish-American culture at the Don Morris Room at Marshall University. This year's library Irish Gala includes an all Irish menu and an Irish pub where guests can sample Irish brew. Music will be provided by Wendell Dobbs with Blackbirds and Thrushes. Irish step-dances will instruct guests. There also will be an Irish sing-along. For tickets and more information, call the library at 304-528-5700.

April 18: Paramount Arts Center Spring Gala 2009 will be at the Fannin Automotive Family Showroom. All proceeds benefit the Paramount Arts Center. Corporate Sponsor Tables are available.
