Local church kicks off convention with Pastor’s Conference
HUNTINGTON -- Westmoreland Baptist Church will kick off the 2009 West Virginia Southern Baptist Annual Convention on Thursday, Nov. 5 with a Pastor's Conference from 1:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The theme of the conference will be "Kingdom Growth." Guest speakers during the conference will be Shannon A. Scott, the Rev. Ken A. Marker and the Rev. Brian Harmon.
The Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 7. More than 300 ministers and Southern Baptist church members from all over the state are scheduled to attend. There will be a musical presentation by the West Virginia Convention of Southern Baptist State Choir at 7 p.m.
Friday evening following the convention, there will be a time of fellowship/reception in honor of Maxine Bumgarner.
The conference is open to the public.
