Red Cross offers gift card for blood donation
HUNTINGTON -- The American Red Cross is planning a promotion today to encourage donations to replenish low supplies.
Several blood drives scheduled for last week were canceled because of weather, and the agency is in need of several blood types, including O negative, the universal blood type.
Those donating today will receive a $5 gift card.
Donors can go to the Huntington Donation Center, 1111 Veterans Memorial Blvd., from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. today.
Individuals 17 or older who weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood.
