650 deer checked at local stations

HUNTINGTON -- Deer stations throughout Cabell and Wayne counties kept busy on Wednesday, Nov. 25, as more than 650 deer were checked in as of 5:30 p.m., according to staff at stations in those two counties.

In Cabell County, at least 318 deer were checked on Wednesday. At least 350 deer were checked in Wayne County. The numbers in Wayne County have increased daily since Monday, while Cabell County's numbers dropped from Tuesday to Wednesday.

All deer must be field tagged and checked in within 72 hours of the time of kill or within 24 hours of the close of the season, whichever comes first.
