HURRICANE, W.Va. -- Hurricane Lion's Club drop boxes for eyeglasses are finding homes in the community.
Club president Ben Newhouse reports that Herman Eye Center has agreed to accept a Hurricane Lions Club eyeglass drop box at their office at 3709 Teays Valley Road. The box will be delivered next week.
In addition, there is another drop box located inside the Putnam County Bank on Main Street.
Vision issues are the driving charge of the Lion's organization, Newhouse said. He said these drop boxes provide the community with a way to recycle their glasses, or even separate lenses and frames, so that those less fortunate do not have to go without clear vision, an ability those without sight issues often take for granted.
