HUNTINGTON -- The fourth annual Elementary Prom Extravaganza will be held in the Riverside Suite Ballroom at Big Sandy Superstore Arena from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, May 24.
And, for the first time, the Elementary Prom Extravaganza will make its way to Ironton from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at the Ironton City Center.
Both proms are being presented by Positive People Association, Inc. and its founder and marketing director Norman Branch. He said the prom has been very successful in the past as a fun family event and a chance for kids to learn etiquette and dancing.
"It teaches the kids to be in a social setting," Branch said. "It gives the kids a lesson on social behavior and structure; a chance to experience different dances and how to portray themselves when they are dressed up."
The prom has been widely successful in the past, which is why the organization added a second in Ironton.
Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend. He said they also will be able to participate in ballroom dancing lessons. Door prizes will be given to both kids and parents.
Tickets are $7 for singles and $10 for couples. Limousine rides to the prom also will be available for $12 per person or $20 per couple.
