Police arrest 3 on drug charges
HUNTINGTON -- Three people were arrested on drug charges Thursday night after a bust in the 1800 block of West 5th Avenue, according to a release from the Huntington Police Department.
Members of the HPD Special Emphasis Unit and the Huntington Violent Crime Federal Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at the home as the result of a drug investigation which began after detectives received numerous tips and information about drug dealing at the residence.
Herbert Tilghman, 39, of Huntington, was charged with felony possession with intent to distribute.
A 21-year-old Huntington woman was charged with a misdemeanor of maintaining a dwelling for the distribution of drugs, and a 45-year-old Huntington woman was arrested on an active city warrant for drug paraphernalia.
Information obtained from the search warrant could lead to additional arrests.
During the search, detectives recovered a distribution amount of heroin, scales, packaging material for the sale of drugs, cash and used needles.
Code enforcement officers were contacted because of the unsanitary living conditions and the residence was closed and remains under a Do Not Occupy order.
The property owner will be contacted during a follow-up investigation by code enforcement.
