Car seat inspection planned for Saturday
HUNTINGTON -- Certified technicians will be available to check car seats at St. Mary's Education Center at 5th Avenue and 29th Street from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 19.
St. Mary's Medical Center with the West Virginia Governor's Highway Safety Program will be hosting the car seat checkup event for the public. Certified technicians and instructors will be there to check child car seats for free at the car port/overhang facing 5th Avenue and the Cabell County Board of Education building. There will be signs posted on where to come during the event.
Organizers ask that when attending the check have the child present if possible and bring the car seat, its instruction manual, and the owner's manual for the vehicle.
While checking the car seats for safety measures, technicians will be walking each parent/guardian through the process of installing a child seat. More information will be available on site for each parent/guardian to take home.
