Tourism in the Tri-State
This year's theme for National Travel and Tourism Week is "Travel Effect." Today's question is what is the "Travel Effect" on romantic relationships?
A survey by the U.S. Travel Association reveals that travel creates a wide range of positive effects on relationships. Couples that travel together are significantly more likely to report that their relationship is more romantic, intimate and balanced.
Couples who travel together also feel closer to one another and are more likely to report that they are "best friends" with their partners. This is a significant finding since other research studying relationships has shown that closeness and friendship is the No. 1 driver of satisfaction in a relationship.
Opportunity: Book a romantic weekend getaway right here at home. Take part in activities that you both enjoy, something active one day, a movie or concert the next. Plan ahead and have champagne and chocolate waiting in your hotel room.
