'Most Wanted' fugitive captured
PROCTORVILLE, Ohio -- Authorities in Lawrence County, Ohio, have been credited with capturing one of the "Tri-State's Most Wanted."
Wallace Dudley Kirk, 47, was arrested at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. His capture followed a traffic stop initiated by the Proctorville Police Department, according to a press release from the U.S. Marshals Service.
Kirk allegedly told the authorities he was headed to Virginia. The U.S. Marshals Service believes he was headed that way because his photo had appeared in The Herald-Dispatch's "Tri-State's Most Wanted" section that morning, according to the release.
Proctorville police cited Kirk with driving on a suspended/revoked license. Several items of drug paraphernalia were located in his vehicle, the release states.
Kirk appeared on the list because of parole violations stemming from West Virginia. Those allegations were related to forgery/uttering, nighttime burglary, daytime burglary and grand larceny charges.
The Herald-Dispatch "Tri-State's Most Wanted" list has featured 35 fugitives since June 2006. No capture had been reported in seven cases as of Nov. 14, 2008.
