Center offers smooth transition for international students
HUNTINGTON -- The grand opening of the INTO Center on Marshall University's campus Thursday not only meant the opening of a new facility on campus -- it also signaled the further opening of Marshall to college students around the world.
INTO Center director center is located in East Hall on campus, the former home of the Marshall University Community and Technical College.
The INTO Center will be the catalyst to provide support to international students as they integrate into American university life through programs that will help them improve their English-speaking skills as well as become more familiar with cultural nuances.
Marshall is the latest university to partner with INTO, a private company, to provide these resources to international students. Since 2006, the company has successfully launched partnerships with 17 universities in the United Kingdom, United States and Asia.
Other INTO schools include Oregon State University, the University of South Florida and Colorado State University.
