Zombie-themed fun brings out young readers

Oct. 28, 2013 @ 11:48 PM

HUNTINGTON -- In place of the usual zombie refrain of "Braaiins, braaiins," the walking dead were clamoring for "Boooks, boooks" at the Cabell County Public Library's Zombie Party on Monday night.

Undead of all ages staggered the evening away with zombie-themed games, food and a costume contest, face painting and even a contest for best zombie walk.

"It's a great way to get the community to come out and visit the library," said Breana Roach Bowen, youth services coordinator for the library.

There's one more chance for your little ghoul or ghost to have some fang-tastic fun when the library hosts a special Halloween story hour at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Kids are encouraged to come in costume for some trick-or-treating around the library and take part in a Halloween-themed craft.
