Police blotter: Resident reports about $3,500 worth of items stolen

Reports from the Cabell County Sheriff's Department provided the following information:

GRAND LARCENY: A resident on Taylor Drive in Milton reported several pieces of jewelry stolen from her residence between Oct. 1 and 18. The resident reported she had work done to her home for the past few weeks and a number of contractors, subcontractors and laborers have been coming in and out of her home.

She reported a diamond wedding band, a diamond necklace and a yellow-gold anniversary band stolen. The items totaled $3,500.

Reports provided by the Huntington Police Department provided the following information:

Deanna D. Hager, 45, of Huntington was arrested Tuesday for felony receiving and transporting a stolen auto and two misdemeanor charges of driving on a suspended license and receiving and transporting stolen property.

Hager was arrested on the 1600 block of 9th Avenue following a stolen auto report filed by a man on the 1400 block of 9th Avenue.

Information from the Western Regional Jail provided the following felony bookings:

Keith Ramon Gravely, 37, was incarcerated at 11:45 p.m. Monday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with felony receiving/transferring stolen property. He also has criminal charges in Raleigh County. He was detained without bond.

Johna Lynn Price, 29, was incarcerated at 5 p.m. Monday. Authorities in Mason County charged her with felony drug trafficking. Bond was $5,000.

Zenna Ann Spitler, 40, was incarcerated at 1:20 p.m. Monday. Authorities in Cabell County charged her with a felony indictment in circuit court. She was detained without bond.

David Alexander, 53, was incarcerated 1:20 p.m. Monday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with failure to register as a sex offender. Bond was $5,000.

Reports from the U.S. Attorney's Office provided the following information:

Kimberly Jackson, 37, of Chesapeake, Ohio, and Edna M. Alcott, 55, of Wayne, pleaded guilty Tuesday before U.S. District Judge Robert C. Chambers to conspiracy to possess and utter forged securities. Four others previously pled guilty in the conspiracy in September 2008.

The loss resulting from the criminal activity is in excess of $21,000. Sentencing for Jackson and Alcott is scheduled for Feb. 9, 2009. Each defendant faces a term of imprisonment of up to five years, supervised release of three years and an order of restitution.

The Huntington Police Department and United States Secret Service conducted the investigation. Assistant United States Attorneys Susan M. Robinson and Thomas Ryan are handling the prosecution.
