Glitch caused mistake on Huntington residents' refuse fee bills
HUNTINGTON -- A computer glitch is to blame for an error on refuse fee bills that were mailed to Huntington residents this week.
The billing statements say that residents need to fork over $2,009 to the city if they want to pay their refuse fees through this fiscal year, which ends June 30, 2009, finance director Bob Wilhelm said.
"The prepayment option should say $180 if you are current on your payments," Wilhelm said.
The quarterly amount owed ($45) and the total amount owed on the bills are accurate, Wilhelm said.
"It's just the prepayment option line that got messed up," he said.
