Felinton to swear in five new police recruits

HUNTINGTON -- Mayor David Felinton will swear in five new probationary police officers for the Huntington Police Department at 2 p.m. today in the City Council Chambers in Huntington City Hall.

The new officers are: Travis S. Elkins of Chesapeake, Ohio; Craig B. Welch of Paintsville, Ky.; Justin E. Holmes and Patrick C. Hagan of Huntington; and Mark E. Parsons of Winfield, W.Va. The officers will attend a 16-week basic police training session at the West Virginia State Police Academy in Institute, W.Va., before beginning their work in Huntington.
