Couple arrested after robbery at local Fas-Chek Supermarket
SALT ROCK -- A married couple are in the Western Regional Jail on Thursday after an unarmed robbery at the Fas-Chek Supermarket on W.Va. 10 in Salt Rock on Tuesday afternoon.
The Cabell County Sheriff's Department charged Richard Stephen Slone, 40, with felony second degree robbery and Carman Slone, 31, was charged with felony accessory before the fact and petit larceny. The Slones are from Lincoln County, W.Va.
Detective Mike Rappold said a man entered the Fas-Chek, walked behind a cash register, grabbed a handful of money from the register when it was opened and ran out of the store. The amount of money robbed from the store totaled $150, Rappold said.
During the store robbery, a woman stole a purse from a van parked outside the store then drove the getaway vehicle, Rappold said.
Rappold said they used the store's surveillance video to make the arrest.
Richard and Carman Slone are housed at the Western Regional Jail with $50,000 and $55,000 bonds, respectively.
