Early voting in W.Va. begins today
HUNTINGTON -- Today marks the first day West Virginia voters can head to the polls early before the Nov. 4 Election Day.
In a Tuesday press release, Secretary of State Betty Ireland urged West Virginia citizens to take advantage of the option to vote early.
"Early voting affords you the opportunity to vote when it is convenient for you," Ireland said. "It is a wonderful option for those who find it difficult to put aside day to day obligations to go to the polls and cast a ballot."
Registered voters can vote early 20 days before the election at the county courthouse during normal business hours. Cabell County voters can stop by the Cabell County Clerk's Office in Cabell County Courthouse from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Voters can also vote early from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, and Saturday, Nov. 1. The Cabell County Courthouse is located at 750 5th Avenue in Huntington.
