Two Huntington men arrested on drug charges
The following information was provided by reports filed with the Huntington Police Department:
POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: Bryant Reese Bowen, 19, and Brandon Clark Heck, 20, both of Huntington, were charged with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver Thursday night. Heck also was charged on two felony warrants and a misdemeanor count of carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
Their arrests came after an officer approached a vehicle that was parked over the curb in the 800 block of Roby Road on Thursday night.
Two men were standing outside the vehicle, and one of the men told the officer his sister had run off the roadway and struck a pole. The man was demonstrating nervous behavior, so the officer asked him to go back to the vehicle.
The officer followed him back to the vehicle, where the second man was, and he instructed each man to sit in the back of the vehicle. The officer recognized one of the men as a suspect in robbery and burglary cases, and he was placed into handcuffs. A background check confirmed there were warrants on file for the man's arrest.
During a search of the man, the officer found a firearm in a holster, a knife, bullets, digital scales and $720 in cash in the man's possession.
The officer searched the second man, who had eight oxycodone and two oxymorphone pills in addition to digital scales in his possession.
BATTERY: A 56-year-old man reported he was walking his dog in the 1200 block of Monroe Avenue on Thursday night when his dog urinated on a tree in the area. The man said that was when a man sucker punched him, threw him to the ground, and punched and kicked him in the face multiple times. The man had bruising above and below his left eye and lacerations to his nose and mouth. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Police have a suspect.
