Trick-or-treat events run smoothly despite storm delays
HUNTINGTON -- There was no more waiting for thousands of trick-or-treaters who came to the Cabell County Courthouse for the 21st annual Halloweenfest.
The event, which is a safe trick-or-treating event, was one of dozens of similar events to be delayed due to conditions thanks to Superstorm Sandy, which came through the area earlier this week.
The event takes place along 8th Street between 4th and 5th Avenues, where roads were closed off to traffic for the occasion.
The event was sponsored by 93.7 the Dawg and Kindred Communications family in partnership with Huntington Junior College, the city of Huntington and the Cabell County Commission.
The event coincided with another rescheduled trick-or-treat event, the Halloween Street Party along Everett Street in Guyandotte, and Altizer's trick-or-treat.
