Huntington house fire investigated as arson

The following information was provided by reports filed with the Huntington Police Department:

ARSON: Officers were dispatched to a house fire in the 2900 block of 8th Avenue on Tuesday night. Firefighters told officers the home was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived, and there were no electric or gas hookups at the residence, which was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

BREAKING AND ENTERING: Jason Ty Munez, 40, of Huntington was charged with felony breaking and entering and misdemeanor public intoxication Tuesday.

Officers were dispatched to a burglary in progress at a business in the 2000 block of 3rd Avenue at about 1:40 a.m. Tuesday. The report stated there was $2,000 in damage to a window in addition to about $650 in tools that were stolen from the scene but later recovered by officers. No further information was available at the time of the report.

BURGLARY: A 63-year-old man reported someone entered his home in the 4700 block of Altizer Drive sometime overnight Sunday and took $20,000 in jewelry, $3,400 in firearms and an undetermined amount of prescription medication.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING: Officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 600 block of 9th Street at 3:30 p.m. Monday, and, while they were en route, dispatchers informed them there was a possible stabbing at the scene. Officers talked to a 44-year-old man, who was listed as the victim in the report, in addition to a witness on the scene. Information regarding the man's injuries was not available at the time of the report.

BURGLARY: A 32-year-old man reported someone took $100 in appliances and $2,347 in lawn care equipment and tools.

The following information was provided by booking records at the Western Regional Jail in Barboursville:

Roy David Ward, 19, was incarcerated at 1:25 a.m. Monday. Authorities in Wayne County charged him with felony burglary and misdemeanor underage consumption. Bond was denied pending arraignment.

James Matthew Smith, 18, was incarcereated at 1:25 a.m. Monday. Authorities in Wayne County charged him with felony burglary and misdemeanor underage consumption. Bond was denied pending arraignment.

Joseph Shannon Daniels, 35, was incarcerated Sunday. Authorities in Wayne County charged him with felony arson, along with misdemeanor domestic assault by threats and obstruction. Bond was denied pending arraignment.

Thomas Eugene Fellure, 30, was incarcerated Sunday. Authorities in Mason County charged him with being a fugitive from justice. Bond was denied.
