Police blotter: Second renter reports burglary on Hash Ridge Road
The following information was provided by the Cabell County Sheriff's Office:
BURGLARY: For the second time this week, a resident of apartments in the 1700 block of Hash Ridge Road in Barboursville reported a burglary. In the latest, a woman stated the incident took place sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15. She said someone entered a locked door in the rear of the unit, possibly using a pry bar. Along with $200 cash, the victim reported a gold ring, diamond pendant, gold chain and 180 prescription pills were stolen.
LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT: A Huntington man reported that he was driving south on W.V. 2 about 7 p.m. Thursday when he swerved to miss a deer. Upon entering the roadway, he was sideswiped by another vehicle, which failed to stop. Damage to his vehicle was estimated at $2,500.
The following information was provided by the Huntington Police Department:
SECOND-DEGREE ROBBERY: A 28-year-old woman told police that she and her son were walking in the area of 3rd Street and 41/2 Alley about 6:35 p.m. Thursday when she was approached by two unknown men. One of them grabbed her son and demanded her money. She grabbed her son and fled the area on foot. One of the suspects was a white man, between 30 and 40 years old, about 6 feet tall and heavy set. The second suspect was a black man, between 50 and 60 years old, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and thin.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY: A 64-year-old man reported that he was awakened about 5:25 a.m. Friday by the sound of breaking glass at the back door of his home in the 500 block of 7th Street. He then heard his side door being yanked on. By the time he got to the door, the suspect(s) had fled. He found a flower pot in front of his rear door and a slender metal pipe with a chain on top of his grill.
The following information was provided by the Western Regional Jail in Barboursville:
Jennifer Kazee, 39, was incarcerated at 4:05 p.m. Friday. Authorities in Cabell County charged her with felony shoplifting and misdemeanor shoplifting, along with warrants for a felony and misdemeanor shoplifting and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond on the new charges were set at $13,000, but she hadn't been arraigned on the outstanding warrant charges.
Shannon Lynn Harland, 36, was incarcerated at 1:35 p.m. Friday. Authorities in Cabell County charged her with a felony count of burglary. Bond was set at $10,000.
Anthony Jared Kessick, 23, was incarcerated at 2 a.m. Friday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with two counts of felony robbery and another active felony warrant, along with misdemeanor disorderly conduct. Bond was denied pending arraignment.
Mack Edward Adkins, 46, was incarcerated at 1:30 a.m. Friday. Authorities in Lincoln County charged him with felony third-offense driving under the influence. Bond was denied pending arraignment.
Derrick Eugene Randolph, 27, was incarcerated at 12:40 a.m. Friday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with a felony bench warrant. Bond was denied pending arraignment.
Jarred Adams Adkins, 19, was incarcerated at 8:45 p.m. Thursday. Authorities in Lincoln County charged him with two counts felony first-degree sexual assault and felony failure to appear in court, along with misdemeanor domestic battery and domestic assault by threat. Bond was $27,000.
Taylor Elaine Demay, 19, was incarcerated at 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Authorities in Putnam County charged her with conspiracy to commit a felony. Bond was $50,000.
Billy Anthony Black, 27, was incarcerated at 7 p.m. Thursday. Authorities in Lincoln County charged him with felony grand larceny. Bond was $2,500.
Criss Creasy Grobe, 41, was incarcerated at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and misdemeanor driving under the influence. Bond was $10,000.
