Knopp returns home from raising funds for hunger

Jun. 23, 2013 @ 10:43 PM

CEREDO -- Tom Knopp was welcomed back to his home county with a celebration on Sunday afternoon.

Knopp, 68, the director of Kenova's Good Samaritan Center, has been walking in each of West Virginia's 55 counties to raise awareness and funds for hunger. He has started at each county courthouse and walked until 3 p.m. He started April 22 and wraps up Monday, June 24, when he finishes his last walk -- through Wayne County.

He was the guest of honor Sunday and celebrated with music, food and fun at a party in the Jeremy Shoemaker Amphitheater at Paul Billups Park.
