Services scheduled for 25-year-old accident victim
HUNTINGTON -- Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at Chapman's Mortuary in Huntington for Stephanie Lynn Dyer of Huntington, who died Sunday in a car accident.
The 25-year old Marshall student died early Sunday morning when her car crashed on W.Va. 10 near the entrance to Huntington High School, according to the Rev. David B. Lemming. The Huntington Police Department is investigating the accident.
Lemming will officiate the service.
Dyer was a full-time student majoring in communication disorders. Her goal was to become a speech language pathologist and help victims of car wrecks, strokes and disabilities in children's speech.
Dyer is survived by a daughter, EmmaLayne Claire; her parents, Ron and Tara Bolling Dyer of Huntington; her sisters, brother-in-law, and nieces, Jessica Riffe and her daughter, Evelyn Copas, of Huntington, and Tara Nicole and Tony Baker, and their daughters, Haley and Holly Baker of West Hamlin, W.Va.; and her grandparents, Larry and Carol Lee Bolling of Huntington.
The family encourages memorials to the Scottish Rite Foundation, Childhood Language Program, P.O. Box 294, Huntington, WV 25707.
Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Chapman's Mortuary.
