Police arrest 21 in city prostitution, drug bust
HUNTINGTON -- The Huntington Police Department arrested 21 people after executing two search warrants related to a street level drug investigation Thursday.
The department's Special Emphasis Unit began conducting undercover operations in areas of Huntington where the department had received complaints of prostitution activity in January, Huntington Police Chief Skip Holbrook said in a press release.
The operation consisted of undercover operatives making narcotics purchases and soliciting prostitution cases from those engaged in the activity.
Officers obtained arrest warrants for 40 individuals with charges including soliciting prostitution, delivery of an imitation controlled substance and delivery of a controlled substance at the residence located at 1029 Monroe Avenue.
At 7:30 a.m. Thursday, officers executed the warrants at 810 19th Street and at the Monroe Avenue residence.
