Young readers journey to the past at Milton library

Jun. 26, 2013 @ 11:00 PM

MILTON -- Kids with free time during summer break and a thirst for an American adventure took to the Milton Branch of the Cabell County Public Library Wednesday afternoon.

The Pioneer Club meets at 1 p.m. each Wednesday at the library, where the participants, students in third grade or higher, read books and participate in activities that bring the days of pioneers back to life.

For the younger set, the library also hosts story time from 10 to 11 a.m. each Wednesday. That hour is reserved for kids between 3 and 5 years old, and they have the opportunity to participate in an hour of music, stories, crafts and other activities.

The Milton Branch of the Cabell County Public Library is located at 1140 Smith St. in Milton.
