Young cheerleaders pick up skills

Jun. 27, 2013 @ 11:14 PM

ONA -- School spirit was on full display Thursday evening as dozens of young cheerleaders took to the gymnasium at Cabell Midland High School to participate in first day of the school's annual Cheer Camp.

The camp runs through Saturday, June 29.

During the event, participants between 6 and 12 years old will learn a short dance, some sideline cheers and a few stunts under the instruction of Scarlett Knights cheerleaders.

On Saturday, the participants will perform their skills for family and friends at the high school.

Cheerleaders from throughout Cabell County were permitted to participate in the event, which serves as a fundraiser for Cabell Midland's cheerleaders.
