IRONTON -- The USDA Forest Service's Wayne National Forest, Ironton Ranger District, is planning prescribed burning operations within the next several weeks. The district anticipated conditions may be favorable for burning from Oct. 1 through Dec. 31, according to a news release.
Sgt. Thomas Matthew Thomas, a member of the U.S. Army's 75th Ranger Regiment, who died Nov. 17, 2005, in Iraq, was among four members of the military honored Saturday, Sept. 27, by Frontier Communications.
