The campus of WVU Institute of Technology was the location of Regional Math Field Day held on Friday, April 4, 2008, for students from Boone, Clay, Kanawha and Putnam counties. The Regional Education Service Agency III (RESA III) sponsored the Regional Math Field Day to determine three regional winners from each grade level in fourth through ninth grades and 10 senior high students to attend the State Math Field Day.

The Regional Math Field Day events included a written exam, mental math activities, relays and estimation activities, which are both computational and physical in nature. The State Math Field Day will have the same types of events.

All the activities for both groups were selected according to the basic philosophy that mathematics is truly an exciting and challenging field of study.

Students who won their grade level competition will represent RESA III at the West Virginia State Math Field Day at Shepherd University on April 25 & 26.

The awards ceremony is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. in the Butcher Center Field House. Parents and interested parties are invited to attend.
