L.V. Miller: On what are Americans basing their thinking?

What has happened to America's thinking?

I recently watched on PBS a documentary on D-Day where they interviewed many now old men who were there in that landing. I could not hold back the tears when I saw how great a price has been paid for us who live in America to have peace. And let me add, men and women are still paying the price.

I thank the Lord for permitting me to be born in this great country where I can worship and live free. But freedom is not free. This freedom came with a great price that was paid by the blood of thousands of great men and women who thought it was worth dying for so their families in this nation could be safe. I was proud to wear her uniform and to salute the flag that stands for her freedom. This is why I was disturbed when I read an article written by Lt. Gen. Bill Ginn, United States Air Force, ret. and I quote:

"Hot on the heels of his explanation for why he no longer wears a flag pin, presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama was forced to explain why he doesn't follow protocol when the National Anthem is played."

During the rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart.

Excuse me, but is this the man who is running for our president and leader of the free world? What in the world has happened to the thinking of the American people?

What has happened to our nation and what type of a country are we leaving for our grandchildren? Is there a solution? Yes, there is an answer. Our nation needs to turn back to the God that helped us become great.
