KENOVA — Police are searching for a man who escaped from police custody today. Kenova Police took Marcle Glenn Jenkins in custody today after two burglaries on Barger Hill overnight. Police say he escaped custody through a window in a police vehicle. He was wearing camouflage pants and a white muscle shirt. He was handcuffed in front of his body.

Today The Herald-Dispatch welcomes Tom D. Miller back to its pages. Miller, 69, who was chief correspondent and political columnist for the Herald-Dispatch for more than 30 years before his retirement in 1996, has been writing a weekly column on West Virginia politics and state government since 1976. The column began in The Herald-Dispatch and is now carried in more than a dozen daily and weekly newspapers around the date. Miller continues to work with West Virginia Public Television during the 60-day regular sessions of the Legislature each winter. His column resumes in The Herald-Dispatch today for the first time since his retirement.
