School birth control policy is ridiculous
So have you heard what the secular progressive loons in the Democratic Party are doing in the school system in Maine?
These disgusting perverts are prescribing birth control pills to students as young as 11 years old without parental consent, although it's illegal in Maine to have sex under the age of 14. Sounds like these scofflaws are aiding and abetting criminal activity to me.
Common sense and decency should dictate that these lunatic teachers and school nurses would report this unlawful activity to the proper authorities to ensure these scurrilous acts are halted and all involved are severely punished, especially if it is adults these kids are having pre-pubescent sex with.
As The Herald- Dispatch is reporting, sexual misconduct by teachers and administrators are plaguing our schools, so it makes one wonder if this is just a new tactic for unionized teachers to protect themselves with absolutely no regard for our children's safety. It's just the old fox guarding the henhouse, and they need to be stopped in their tracks.
Their hollow excuse for enacting this policy is that these kids are being abandoned by their parents. Well if this is true, they should be placed in safe and responsible foster homes and then prosecute these irresponsible idiots who don't deserve to have kids or freedom in this country.
We send our kids to school hoping that they'll be safe, not to have safe sex. What's next from these amoral socialists -- abortions during study hall?

Homosexuals are people/citizens, too
A recent letter stated, "Having a chosen sexual preference other than what God intended shouldn't give anyone more rights than anyone else that's not homosexual in our city or country. When the enemy has us retreating in fear, then may God help us all."
First, I'd like to ask the writer when he chose to be straight, since he has the misguided idea that sexual orientation is a choice.
Second, he should consider that people he comes into contact every day, from the paper boy to the checkout girl to the person next door, could be gay. How is he better than a gay person?
Third, gay people are not the "enemy," as he puts it. They pay taxes just the same as he does and should have a say in things that government decides.
As for reference to the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., I chose to believe he would disagree with the letter writer. Civil rights are for all, not just those who think they are better than the next person. I may be judged by God. You, however, don't get a say in that.

Get the facts about mining, environment
I am wanting to clear up a letter I wrote to the editor. I wrote a letter and was making statements about an article I read in a Joyce Meyer magazine. First and foremost, the article was not written by Joyce Meyer and was not written about mountaintop removal. I pulled points from this article that I thought were interesting. Some of the points I was trying to bring out were not edited into the letter, so it was somewhat out of my meaning.
I was trying to point out how God provided raw materials from the ground. Everything that sustains our life comes from this earth, even coal. I believe all the facts are not present in this case. In court, they claimed you cannot fish in this water because it is so polluted. This is so false. For the past week, as my husband and his brother travel over the creek to get across the property, men have been fishing from those banks and catching fish. People need to get educated on this issue and find out if everything one person says is true.
