The world has seen too many changes

Wow, has this world changed!

Nothing against Michael Jackson, but North Korea is wanting to send a nuclear bomb to Hawaii. The dollar keeps being worth less each day, etc., and yet nothing but 24-hour news coverage for someone who sang songs? I am not even bringing up his past.

Farrah is called a "fallen angel" by Charles Gibson? If you have read the BIBLE, that is not a compliment; that is what Satan was known as. The world has its gods, just the way it is for now.

Next, AEP and its rate hike: It is trying to make up for profit it lost a year ago, not for today, when they are making money -- GOOD MONEY. My guess is AEP is jealous of Exxon and wants its share no matter how much it costs the people who cannot afford it

Next, the postal service is going to get rid of at least one day of delivery, most likely Saturday at first, another later. And this is something GM, Ford and Chrysler could consider: Get rid of the man-made holidays, at least eight of them, or watch your brothers and sisters lose their jobs. Keep in mind, they are some of the well paid workers who need your service or product .

I guess the world is changing. Please do not change with it. PRAY.

Stop fearing and enjoy the holiday

This is a nukes and veggie burgers reply from a person who wants a fresh, ground sirloin burger on my grill on July 4th -- not a manufactured, frozen veggie burger, thank you very much!

And on nuclear power plants: my husband, a mechanical engineer, was a project manager on the "Waterford" nuclear power facility at Taft, La., in 1977-1985. For eight years, Entergy Power (formerly LA Power) employed hundreds of workers for this project, which was awesome to see built. It has been almost 25 years and it's still producing electric power for that area in Louisiana. I know many people there and have heard of no problems -- only how lucky the employees there are to have the interesting jobs that the plant provides.

France has several nuclear plants, and one doesn't hear of many health problems because of it. Being a news junkie, I'm sure I would be aware if it is currently a major problem. They can be built and operated safely.

We do have to shop smart and stay aware of recall announcements, etc., but please, stop fearing everything and enjoy life. God is good and "life can be beautiful."

Happy July 4th!
