Area needs more enriching activities

Why is it that Huntington and the surrounding area is so VOID of good entertainment? We need more interesting things to be able to attend and do that are enriching.

Music workshops and writing workshops would be nice. This would be such a plus for Huntington and the Tri-State area.

This is probably one of the biggest reasons that so many people leave this area and move out of state. It is, quite frankly, boring here for people with many interests in art and the like. We have some musical concerts, but not nearly enough variety and not often enough.

Who is in charge of this? I would like to know if it is because we cannot afford to bring in these kinds of events or what? Not enough interest or not enough money to support such things due to minimum wage jobs, which are prevalent?

This is a depressing state, at least in this end of the state. We seem to get the crumbs all the way around. Is it poor management of the city and state? My inference is a resounding YES!

Will someone, anyone, please address this predicament for me? I don't want to have to go to Atlanta, Georgia or Cincinnati, Ohio or Myrtle Beach, S.C., or Orlando, Fla., to be entertained!

As it stands now, that is what most of us who enjoy the finer things of life have to do.

Come on, Huntington management, give me some kind of an answer to this overriding dilemma for us poor folks who pay your taxes! We deserve an answer.
