Pay attention when driving Enslow Blvd.

Recently, I have noticed the ducks have been climbing the banks and venturing onto Enslow Boulevard between 12th Street and Enslow Park Church. I ask motorists driving the boulevard to slow down, get off the phone and pay attention. We all know that ducks, as well as cats, dogs, humans and squirrels do not have the ability to know how, when and where to cross the street.

Speaking of getting off the phone, I have been conducting an unofficial survey, and I have determined that 7 out of 10 people who talk and text while driving also do not use their seatbelt. Could it be considered a double whammy from the gene pool?

Media disgraceful during Anthony case

To murder and dispose of a body is a crime punishable by life in prison or the death penalty. To dispose of a deceased body in some states might be punishable by a fine.

In the case of Casey Anthony's trial in the death of her daughter, the cause of death was never established.

Due to the fact I didn't watch the executioners on cable TV preside in vigilante-style justice acting as judge, jury and executioners, I won't comment any further on her guilt.

What has to be questioned is the media, "Nancy Grace" and cohort pundits, trying Casey in the public landscape, adamantly proclaiming her guilt.

Constitutional passion cry. Ben Franklin's reply when asked what kind of government are you leaving us. A republic if you can keep it. A republic praised as rule by law.

Casey Anthony was judged by 12 of her peers. Not guilty, case closed. Rule by law unless one doesn't like the verdict.

Fox News' Bill O'Reilly gives his talking points pertaining to the case then has one of his henchman, Bernie Goldberg, come on stating to him maybe her attorney is right. We tried this case for weeks of wall-to-wall TV coverage, armchair lawyer punditry resulting in media assassination. What say you. Guilty.

Bernie Goldberg couldn't give it up. He responded by denouncing the defense attorneys, prosecutors and vilifying the jurors as incompetent.

No matter how appalled by the verdict, Casey Anthony was convicted of lying but not killing, and that's the law.

Life-long politicians real problem in D.C.

This is a letter I sent to my Congressman and the President.

Dear Congressman:

Every time I hear a story on the raising of the debt ceiling, I hear the same catch phrases.

In essence, you all are more worried about your political futures than you are about the country. If you all would sit down and figure out what was best for the country and forget about what was best for your biggest campaign contributors, you might get the job done.

If I could wave a magic wand and create term limitations for everyone in Congress, I am sure loopholes in the tax code would be closed in a heartbeat. Special interest funding would vanish.

We are all getting tired of the nonsense. The more we learn, the more we know professional, life-long politicians are the real problem in Washington.

Get to work for us and not for yourselves.

Thank you.
