Health reform is erosion of freedom
I have always heard that communist leaders said they would take over without firing a shot. If this health care bill passes, they will have been correct. Freedom will continue to erode as the government takes over more aspects of our lives.
Our leaders have learned to gather huge numbers of votes from those who want to be taken care of and expect to have what others have earned without having to do the work themselves. The incentive to work for a better job or to get an education is taken away as the government gives an even larger portion of your pay to those who won’t work for it.
The American people are a charitable bunch and will help those truly in need. We are simply tired of taking care of those who feel that certain jobs are beneath them and who refuse to work their way up the ladder. Many of us have worked long and hard for better pay and benefits. Now our hard work is paying off for those who haven’t.

Don’t put blame on victim of accident
I read a letter in voice of the people today that left me totally baffled. The letter regarded the recent accident involving the wheelchair and the tractor trailer in Kenova.
Just because the person in the wheelchair was killed does not mean he just wasn’t thinking and ran under the truck.
People in wheelchairs, and scooters are generally of average or above average intelligence. I know the truck driver did not intend to hit the gentleman in the wheelchair; however, it is his job to make sure no pedestrians will be endangered by his actions. He should have made sure the wheelchair was totally out of contact with his truck. Was the driver distracted? His dispatcher had probably given him directions, and he may have been trying to figure out where to turn. Bad place for a tractor trailer to turn — a school on one side and a car lot on the other with a narrow street, really not big enough for a large truck to turn.
I really feel sorry for both of them that such a tragedy happened. My husband drives a tractor trailer, and I know it would absolutely destroy him if something like that were to happen when he was driving.
However, as a handicapped person, whose diseased brain has affected my entire body, I can assure you I am very cautious on the roadway.
I just think it was totally unfair to blame the victim for the accident. It wasn’t his fault; perhaps that area should be prohibited for tractor trailer use. Drivers have an atlas and it tells them streets or areas to avoid.

Wilson deserves thanks for vote
Everyone in our great country deserves health care, and Rep. Charlie Wilson took a stand for all Americans. Thank you.
