Johnson grateful for voter support
My name is Irv Johnson, and I was recently elected as the Cabell County assessor. I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere thanks to the citizens of Cabell County for their support in my recent campaign. I am humbled by the trust you have placed in me and will work hard to operate an efficient, fair and friendly office.
Running a countywide race was challenging, and I couldn't have done it without the help and support of many volunteers, friends and family. I have been so amazed by the generosity and work ethic these individuals displayed throughout the campaign and can't adequately express my gratitude for all their hard work over the last several months. I don't come from a political family or background, which will allow me to use my business experience to run the Assessor's Office in a customer-centered manner. My staff will be friendly and knowledgeable and will understand that we are there to serve you, the citizens of Cabell County. I hope you will accept my invitation to visit me at the office and let me know what we can do to better serve you.
I certainly must take a moment to thank Ottie Adkins and his Chief Deputy Jerry Hutchinson for their years of dedicated service to our community. Ottie and Jerry have had numerous accomplishments and have been leaders in our county for as long as I can remember. I wish both of them a great retirement and continued success. I have great expectations for the Assessor's office, and know that with your help and support, I can lead the Assessor's Office into a successful future.
Cricket's Kids need your support
It's that time of year again for Cricket's Kids. Unfortunately, we are in desparate need for toys, teen items and donations. If you were a recipient of Cricket's Kids, if Cricket has ever helped you out by loaning you money, paying a utility for you, helped pay your rent, given you food or clothing, please, send at least a dollar so these kids can have a toy. All help is definitely appreciated!
You can send or take your donations to United Bank on Camden Road.
