Mother Teresa right about abortion

An unborn baby is not a choice; it's a child. It's a child who has a heartbeat 18 days after conception. It's a child created by God himself for our pleasure and his.

Recently, I read the story of Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Mother Teresa's speciality was love, not politics or social philosophy. When an issue did concern her, she spoke forcefully.

"A child is a gift of God," she told anyone who would listen. "if you do not want him, give him to me, I will look after him. But don't murder him!"

I don't think I could have said it any better myself.

Illegal drugs big business in Tri-State

I had no idea the revenue certain people in Huntington were making due to "travel/tourism." Before you start thinking too hard about what I am referring to, I will admit I am being facetious. It seems like far too many people are making money on the never-ending drug problem in Huntington and the surrounding area.

I happen to live near one of those so-called "sober living" half-way houses. They seem to be operated with no rules. There are numerous drug deals made, impaired inhabitants and it appears more like a brothel. Women live with these men day in and day out. It is more like a "Frat House" for the "non-collegiate" least likely to succeed.

I think the police and the mayor need to visit an ophthalmologist, or invest in service animals (maybe they could sniff things out a little better).

Hankins enchanted with Obamas

In a recent letter, retired minister Milt Hankins of Ashland, Ky., said Obama deserved all of his vacations. He also said that the president and First Lady were the hardest-working couple in decades in the White House.

Please, Mr Hankins, spare me your drivel.

I, unlike you and Chris Mathews, don't get a chill up my leg when the name Obama is mentioned. Rather, I always feel a bit of nausea.
