Bring familiar faces back to MU team

With everyone eager to see the Snyder era come to an end and Snyder doing nothing to put his critics to rest, I began to think. Who would be the next in line for the job? Who will take over and turn around a Herd Nation in pain, a losing team, dwindling attendance and restore the faith? I then thought about the dream team, in my opinion, of a coaching staff, the dream team for Marshall. So for what it's worth, here it is.

As head coach bring back Jim Donnan. He has been around lately and seems to still have a passion for coaching and MU. With Chad Pennington's NFL career all but gone, why not make him the quarterback coach? For receivers, who better than Troy Brown? Keep Phil Ratliff as tight ends coach. Rick Minter stays as defensive coordinator. Give Bob Pruett a job somewhere in there, also. As for the rest, leave that up to Donnan. He would not disappoint Herd Nation. Just imagine the level of excitement by just bringing those few back into the program. Attendance, morale, recruiting, donations and Huntington would all be back on Herd Nation's side.

Think before you vote next time

Wake up, West Virginia. It is almost that time again for you to vote for your representatives. In response to Thomas Sowell's column on page 6A, Oct. 30, you need to get it, and read what it says. And at the same time, remember that your Democratic representatives let it be known they backed Obama from the very start. Just think what this country will be like by the time they are through.

It was not just the Republicans but also Democrats that got us in the mess that we are in. President Bush did the right thing going after the terrorists, to keep us safe and free as Americans. With this president we have in office now, all that we are getting is bigger government, deeper in debt and someone more worried about flying around the country to fundraising dinners so he can stack the deck against us, rather than staying in Washington to get the job done. I don't think this is the change he was voted in for.

I do not know where the jobs are that Obama and the Democrats say they have saved or created up to this point, as I am still hearing of banks failing and more layoffs along with more businesses closing. Now it is going to take 10 or 12 years if not more for us to come out of this. That is not to say how long our grandchildren will be paying for this mess. All I am asking you to do is think before you vote if this is the way you want to go.
