Columnist writes disturbing views
And here he goes again.
The Tri-State resident pseudo-intellectual theologian proclaimed in this newspaper of Dec. 14 that he has determined that those of us who believe, without merit in his considered opinion, there is an assault on Christianity in our American culture are naive, gullible and idiots.
Quoting this astute intellect, "Let me be perfectly clear: There is no attack on Christianity, period!"
The truth is, glaring evidence abounds that Biblical Christianity in America is under assault and this "Christian" minister/author himself gives evidence of this through his weekly odious missives.
Truly, this is the penultimate example of the ostrich with its head in the hole syndrome.
The following quote from this minister/theologian in his Dec. 14 article is one of the most frightening, intolerant and alarming statements that I have ever read.
He said, "It's time we stopped tolerating those who believe their religious beliefs are the only truth..." "Stop tolerating" the right of others to hold and express a differing view? Does this chill your blood as it does mine? Does it raise the ugly specter of a Nazi flag waving in the wind?
Mr. Hankins, I would ask you to explain that horrifyingly insensitive statement.
How do you propose that we no longer be tolerated? Death squads? Public hangings? Forced re-education classes? Sir, you cannot make a disturbing public statement like that and not give a public answer.
