Christianity under attack in U.S.

I recently heard that one of our elementary principals was chastised for saying a public prayer. The woman who protested was, apparently, upset because the principal used the name of Jesus. She implied she was concerned about the religious freedom of Jews and Catholics.

Is this woman a Catholic? Don't they worship Jesus? Last time I checked, they did! And is this woman a Jew? If so, why aren't any of them complaining besides her? I wonder if this was the protester's real issue.

I am convinced that Christianity is under attack in our nation. It has become chic to howl about someone's use of the name "Jesus." Somehow, our modern liberal society now thinks it's cool to slam the Bible or anything Judeo-Christian.

Any school principal who references God (I'm talking about the God who made our country great) should be given a MEDAL. But that'll never happen. American society has become so spineless that expounding traditional values or even standing up for them has become a thing of the past.

Bailey owes Yon a public apology

I feel a responsibility to respond to Mr. Bailey's diatribe at the Cabell County Commission meeting as reported in this newspaper.

I do not know Mr. Bailey personally, but I do know Mrs. Yon, having worked with her. She was always professional and conducted herself as a lady.

Persons who hold a position of the public trust must be accountable for their words and actions. Since Mr. Bailey chose a public forum to attack Mrs. Yon, he owes her a public apology.
