Boy Scout oath is clear on morality
I am writing in regard to the decision facing the Boy Scouts about accepting homosexuals into their organization.
Homosexuals make a choice about the life they live, but those choices should not be forced upon society and organizations such as the Boy Scouts of America.
Boy Scouts take an oath which includes "to do my duty to God ... and to be morally straight." "Moral," according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary online, refers to "right behavior."
The Bible teaches us right and wrong, though people continue to turn God away and want to make their own rules.
America should not continue accepting just any behavior or act according to what "feels good" or what an individual justifies in their mind as "right."
2 Timothy, ch. 3:
1.This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3. Without natural affection, truce breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4. Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5. Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
With the above statements directly from the Word of God, the answer is clear. Homosexuality is not new, as it existed in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah. Homosexuality goes against our "duty to God" and "to be morally straight."
