Boy Scouts should resist allowing gay leaders, members

As a former Boy Scout, former Army officer and average Christian father, I feel the need to express my opinion on the controversy surrounding the homosexual agenda of the Boy Scouts of America. The Boy Scouts are one of the last, if not the last, American institution that has successfully resisted (until now) the pressure of the homosexual community.

There are several reasons why they may capitulate and begin accepting homosexuals as Scouts and leaders. In my opinion, none is acceptable.

Probably the most important reason is money. They have been taking money from major corporations that support the homosexual agenda. Some of the CEO's of these companies are on the BSA board. The leadership probably fears losing the money. This has corrupted them. The love of money is the root of evil (God).

Another reason is cowardice. They are simply caving to the pressure of popular culture and moral bankruptcy. I wonder how long it has been since the leaders (if ever) of the BSA have reviewed their own Scout Law and Scout Oath? When taking the oath, Scout pledge to do their duty to God, keep themselves mentally awake and morally straight. The Scout law directs them to be reverent toward God. God is very clear on the subject of homosexuality and he disapproves.

If the BSA reverses its current position on homosexuality, will it change or delete parts of the scout Oath and Law?

When all is good is destroyed, all that is left is bad.

Congress should face consequences

I believe if Congress can't pass a budget, then its members should not be paid.

It is their fault that this has not been taken care of in a timely fashion.

They should not be scaring the elderly and the sick or federal employees by saying they would be the ones to not get paid or receive their monthly checks if the budget is not passed.

They need to pass a budget to save money, not spend more as the people cannot give any more.

They themselves should not get any raises until we are in a much better place than where we are.
